Tips on Choosing the Perfect Wedding Ring in 2016
Becoming engaged is incredibly exciting, but once all of the initial festivities have died down, it is time to get your wedding planning head on – and that includes choosing a wedding ring.
There is a tremendous amount of thought that goes into the engagement ring buying process, however for some reason, the same amount of thought doesn’t go into the wedding ring.
Considering that your wedding ring will be the most important piece of jewellery you will ever wear, potentially for the rest of your life, you should make it a priority to spend a little extra time choosing the perfect one.
With thousands of different styles, different metals and different width wedding rings to choose from, the thought of choosing just one could seem overwhelming.
To give you a helping hand, we have gathered some of the most popular styles for 2016, so you can choose your perfect wedding ring.
Rose Gold
Rose gold is becoming increasingly popular, with more people than ever choosing to have the super trendy precious metal for their marital bands. Ryan Reynolds famously proposed to his now wife, Blake Lively, with a beautiful 12 carat oval diamond engagement ring and since then, has added the rose gold wedding ring to match. Although we would usually recommend matching your engagement ring and wedding ring, more and more brides are “mixing and matching”. You can create a beautiful set of rings using different colours of metal or precious stones that compliment each other. So, if you love the rose gold trend as much as we do, go ahead and experiment.
Go Contemporary
If you want to move away from the traditional, there are plenty of contemporary and uniquely designed wedding rings currently on the market. Most people let the engagement ring do all of the talking, but more focus is being put on the wedding ring and rightly so! We are seeing much more distinctively detailed rings, including contrasting metals, art deco inspired settings and even multiple bands.
Classic with a modern twist
If you very much like the idea of a traditional wedding set, but you want to bring it into 2016, there a lots of rings out there with little twists that make them extra special. Multiple bezel set diamonds rings have rose in popularity, giving a very modern look to an otherwise traditional concept. They are a great alternative to channel set, or pave wedding rings and set perfectly underneath solitaire engagement rings.
